We are redoing our front porch and removing the glass enclosure in addition to replacing the stone on the landing and steps. The one area where I am struggling now is the columns. I was going to do one tapered round column on each side in the front with one tapered round HALF column in the back. In driving around, I noticed that some are round columns in the front and half square columns in the back.

I am having a hard time envisioning it without the glass enclosure and with the columns. And due to the roof line on the porch, we can really only do one on each side in the front and one on each side in the back. Does anyone have any input? The round columns are to be 12" diameter for reference.

Also, the house will be painted white in the coming weeks.
