What colour tile are you using for the fireplace surround? It's hard to tell in the picture because of the lighting, but do you have wallpaper on the wall behind the sofa? What colour is it? What's your wall paint colour?

Love the lavendar but Ivory is more flexible for the long term.

I think lavender might be too matchy with the rug. So unless it is a pretty bluish lavender that will be different from rug, I say ivory.

The ivory looks too drab. Go bold. Maybe keep your tile around the fireplace a little lighter in the same color combination...or do ivory tiles with an accent of the lavender. Have fun with it!!

It would be sophisticated to bring in another colour. perhaps the tone of the fireplace stone and the wallpape r- they both appear to have a slate grey tone. I would suggest a range of dark to medium with either a blue or green cast to the grey.

I love lavender as it goes so well with grey, with silvers and even glass. Also in the evening it should have a brownish hue rather than purplish. I love it and it ties the room together - you can do non matchy stuff with the accessories. But the bones should be solid.

The drapes would look nice using both ivory and lavender. Do a bold horizontal strip at the top of the draperies.

From the pic, I think the lavendar looks better.

Both! Put the lavendar on the outside and ivory on the inside, then hook the bottom of the ivory over the lavendar one up to tie back height

Keep the green and find ikat or geometric prints with green, lavender, ivory and dark purple for the curtains and pillows. Think bold!

If the stools are ivory I would go with the ivory to tie the two spaces together.
