It looks very similar to frosty carrina caesarstone

I love it! It's beautiful! That's granite, correct? How do you like having the sink in the island? I'm considering having my sink there, but can't decide.

Here in Austin, Texas, Taj Mahal is referred to as a quartzite. In this photo it does look like Frosty Carrina Caesarstone.

My supplier sells it as a granite, but another supplier I use sells the same material as a quartzite (natural quartz). It has a very different look from Caesarstone (man-made quartz) Frosty Carrina, which is lighter/whiter and of course, more consistent because it is man-made. Also, in this project we used a leathered finish, which has a texture to it, whereas the Caesarstone has a polished/shiny finish. They would both be great candidates for someone looking for a light countertop that is super-durable.

Yes I agree. In fact, I am trying to decide between the Taj M Quartzite and the CS Frosty Carrina. I have white cabs and medium brown hardwood floors. The Taj M Q is $150/sf (about) installed and I have 130 sf of kitchen counters (so ouch). The CS Frosty Carrina seems to run between 85 and 100 / sf installed.

And another thing: I've heard good designers in Austin say that honing the Taj M causes it to lose its depth which is arguably the coolest thing about Taj M. As is always the case, I spoke with another Austin designer recently who told me that she always recommends honing the Taj M. I saw a sample of honed Sea Pearl yesterday (which is a quartzite too but more gray/green than Taj M). The honing did in fact cause the stone to lose that quality of depth that I find so appealing about the quartzites. I like the idea of CS Frosty Carrina because of its durability and because I think it is very neutral. The Taj M is neutral as well but I think in a large piece could appear very light brown (tan rather than a warm gray). Any feedback is appreciated. These are expensive decisions.

The flooring is a European White Oak, wide plank, wire-brushed. The wall color I have to look up. I will let you know if I find it:)! Thanks for your interest in our work!

Hi Dianna, I'm actually building now and have used Frosty Carrina cs in the kitchen (about 90 sqft of it, cost $8,300 AU installed, I'm in Australia by the way), the cabinetry is high gloss white and carbonised bamboo floors.
It looks amazing but like you said it's quite neutral, it would look good in almost any kitchen.
Let me know if you would like to see some photos, it's still a couple of weeks from being finished.

To stpsmommy: I love having my sink in the island. It is really easy to wipe down as you can just wipe everything into the sink. Plus I don't think I would want my stove in the island cause you can never really get it sparkling.

Dianna Pharr--we went with Taj Mahal, but there was another quartzite we liked called Nacia that had no brown--just grey. Also one called Iceberg.

@outside--we have our stove on the island. We had it that way before the remodel and it was one of the features that we kept. The nice part of having the stove on the island is that you can cook without having your back to the world. Nice for family meals and for entertaining. It is amazing how everyone always gathers in the kitchen for every event, be it making something simple for the family or for a big party. I am the cook in the house and I love being able to see and talk to family and friends while cooking.
