Remove unnecessary linen closet door

I have a door on my linen closet that is behind the entrance door to the bathroom. It seems unnecessary to me and I would like to remove it. any suggestions on how to make the space look like I didn't just remove a door?

Hi Judy...this one is easier than you think...answer YES! In fact I did it in my own home. I took my door off and made a cabinet rather than a closet. Yes I ended up with partial doors but I also got drawers where I wanted them, open shelving where I wanted it, and doors where I wanted doors. The look is exactly what I want and the organization is significantly better, and the function is amazing. The front is flush with the door frame so it looks like it was always there and designed with the original space. If you want to change color to give it more notice feel free. Some wood shelves insted of the wire ones and then there would be no reason for a door or curtain

I would paint trim and new wood shelves the same colour as the wall ( after removing door and filling holes, of course ) :)

i did a tension rod and a curtain on rings. there never was a door, its just an alcove beneath the stairs to the 3rd floor.

As others have said, it is definitely doable. I'd add wooden shelving instead of the wire and it will look great.
