Living area: How much space do you need for double couches?

My husband and I have built a new house and would love to have two couches facing each other, on one end we would have the fireplace and the other we would like to have two arm chairs. We know we have enough room for a 9x12 rug. There would be a walkway behind each couch. Attached is a photo of the actual room, the floor plan and my try at an online furniture layout app!
