Huge living room wall

I am at a lose of what to do with this wall. I can't move the tv (per hubby). Was thinking white wash brick (but I don't want to dress down the area) or entertainment center (I would like to take it with me in a couple of years when we move so no built in). I tend to go traditional, elegant route but like to pop in other styles here and there (industrial, farmhouse or medi). White linen club chairs, chaise lounge and brown leather couch are in the open living area now. I need something for the Windows too. The room just needs help period. To get an idea of my style-- my kitchen is crisp white clean lines, dark wood floors, carrera countertops and herringbone patterned carrera backsplash. I like simple. THANK YOU FOR AN ADVICE!!! I'm sick of looking at this empty wall (Please excuse the kid mess)

electric fireplace under the TV and 2 big mirrors on both sides would work nicely in this room.

Thank you S&A decor! I like the mirror idea. Didn't think of that. I don't have any shelving in the room at all. Do you think I need it? Hard to tell from my picture but there is a fireplace on the adjacent wall (I attached another view of the room). There are only 2 walls in the living room and columns separating it from my kitchen. I think I need to hang vs prop up my picture above the fireplace also. ???

That's what I have been looking at Heather. A white entertainment center. Thanks for confirmation. I've been looking for one. Do I take the tv off the wall or do I find an entertainment center with an open center?

BtW- this is my first post every! I really appreciate all the advice!

That wall doesn't make sense right now because your tv is mounted high like a piece of art with no console underneath. My suggestion would be to do a gallery wall. And I say no to fake white washed brick that will be hard to remove later.

yep. Also, if you end up buying a console, I would get a high boy. Otherwise your console and tv would stay disconnected, due to where you hung your tv, which seems too high. Your Tv would be floating and the console would be sort of useless. Maybe install a longer floating shelf below your tv with no console if you must keep your tv where it is.

Your TV wall needs to be grounded. A credenza would do the trick. You could also benefit by lowering the TV.

Definitely lower the TV and you have some good suggestions about art and/or a console under it. My first inclination is to say you have way too much furniture in the room. I love the two chaise lounges and also the leather sofa. Can you put just one of the white club chairs in the room, angled like the chaises are and move the other to another room?

Yes I actually hate the tv on this wall. My husband and cable guy won.

Put a console under the TV and invest in some art. Move the 2 regular white chairs where the lounge chairs are and put one closer to the couch looking toward the TV. Remove the other one. Consider adding one other color to the room for pillows, curtain panels, in your art and an accessory or two.

For that distance to the couch you'd benefit from a larger TV. There's a rule of thumb for optimum screen size based on viewing distance. As others have said, you need either a console or floating cabinet or at least a very long narrow shelf underneath. An entertainment center would work in a larger room or a room your size with less furniture. The gallery wall idea works but I wanted my TV wall to be less busy, all the pictures around the TV would be distracting to me. I floated a swoosh of art glass plates to one side extending partially over the TV. That makes the TV wall balanced but not busy.

I also like the idea of a long narrow bookshelf or credenza to create a base for things you place above it on both sides, art to the right, and a plant and a lamp to the left. Overall, I like your room, and think adding a bit of color will warm those gray walls, and create a focal point at the same time. Good luck!

I know you asked for wall advice, but personally, I think you already have too much furniture in the room, and now you're going to add another piece (which I agree with the others is needed to ground the TV). I think a couch or chaise needs to go. I would suggest you buy additional lighting, as the room looks dark. As for curtains, perhaps a panel that you can swag over to one side for each window?
