Overseed Lawn

I'm going to be overseeding my lawn in 6A. Can someone help me identify the grass type? I've been told it's some type of KBG mix so I figure I'll overseed with KBG. I looked at http://www.ntep.org/data/kb11/kb11_15-5/kb11mi114t.txt but am unsure if I would be able to purchase any of the top performers. Quick google searches of the top 5 provide me with no information. Can someone recommend a cultivar and vendor based on NTEP and general consensus?

KBG doesn't really need overseeding, it spreads via rhizomes. Also, overseeding KBG successfully is hard to do, it takes long for the KBG seed to germinate and the existing mature grass makes it very hard for the new seedlings to establish. Your best bet is to treat your existing grass well and help it spread and fill in on its own.

Thanks for the reply. Do you agree that the grass is a primarily KGB? I'm still learning about how to identify the types.
