A polka dot print with some of the same colors could be cute.

I would go with a solid bright fabric that is in the rug! I would definitely not do very much of a pattern since that rug has enough for the entire room!

I'd go with a solid. If you want something a bit more lively, you could do different colors for the top/bottom, banding & cord.
