Do you really want to spray that stuff around your veg plants? Whatever products you consider, make sure the label says safe for use on/around edible plants.

Weeds can be pulled, smothered, hoe'd while small, trimmed to prevent forming more seeds. Monitor often so you're never faced with a huge weeding task. Letting any form & drop more seeds would cause a never-ending cycle of work vs. diligently removing them for a couple yrs, until the seeds in the soil have mostly sprouted. An inch or so of grass clippings &/or leaves around already-growing plants can do wonders for keeping sprouts at bay around them, as long as mowing was done before the grass used for mulch had produced seed heads. Turn your lemons into lemonade. Whenever you mow and there are seeds showing on the grass, don't let the chute sling grass/seeds into veg bed area.

"Weed" control, keeping unwanted plants out of where you do not want them, is an ongoing process. There is nothing that will stop them forever.

Mulches can help keep unwanted plant growth down, if properly installed, but seeds can be put into that mulch by the wind and birds where they can also germinate and grow. Spraying plant poisons to keep those unwanted plants under control is expensive, environmentally unsound, and unhealthy for you.

Strategies for "weed" control include tilling (although that has problems as well), mulching, and cultivation.

Don't wait until next year to be more pro-active. Weeding is a continuous activity. But it need not be onerous. Little and often with the hoe, the hands and the fork plus mulch and you will get there. If you leave this year's weeds you will have even more to deal with next year.
