Grommey, great questions. Remember one thing, these bungalows tend to be "style neutral" because they have been altered so many times that you don't have to worry about picking the right style, go with what you like!

Do you plan on painting any of the interior or will you stay with the stained wood, floor to ceiling?

If you plan on adding white paint anywhere (walls, trim, ceiling) then you can go with a white interior window. If you plan on keeping the interior look as is, I would go with a pine interior window like an Andersen.

New High Efficiency windows will allow you to get rid of the storm windows so your new windows will look great. A few ideas:

Thank you GTG. I like the pictures. All the other rooms in the house are white or close to it so we like the wood like in the living area. We installed wood windows on a previous house and had some difficulty with mold build-up in the corners from condensation so were a little hesitant to go that route again. Shall keep doing research!

High efficiency windows, like the Andersen's shown, will reduce or eliminate your condensation problem if installed properly. Windows should be vinyl white exterior clad and you will need to seal the interior wood. Installed properly and sealed, mold should not be an issue. Good luck

We recently purchased Amsco Windows for our new home and so far have been pleased with their quality with one notable exception. We have a 4 panel sliding glass door that isn't worth what we paid for it. The sliding action is not smooth and the screens are truly the worst quality I have ever seen (to Include some apartments I have lived in). Amsco has not been responsive in addressing our concerns. If you have a large opening that you are buying for that includes functional screens I would look at a different manufacturer.
