The top one in first photo looks like the Gold Medal I grow, some hit 2 pounds. I'm on other end of the production problem, can't get rid of easy, most people round here think tomatoes are supposed to red, mine are not. Picked 84 pounds Tue-Sun of last week. Blaming it on great compost, really hot weather, and too much Tomato Tone. Trying to sell some today to area eateries.

Mine are coming in, but since the plants are slowly dying, I need to enjoy what I am getting because it may be short-lived. Greek salads for dinner the next few days, not that I am complaining about that.

Those look great. I will check my Trader Joe's today. Whole Foods had no heirlooms when I checked last week.

I'm in the same situation Sey...I've harvested 2...TWO...Sungolds. That is it. I have freaking green tomatoes coming out of my ears, but no more ripe. I'm also in the PNW and I even got to plant out 2 weeks early.

*sigh*

New Seasons had some overflowing bins of sun golds today so I caved and bought one. Not as good as out of my garden but a satisfying stopgap. I have eyed the heirlooms at T-Joes but haven't gone there yet.

I would say you may have a few options for your yellow...my votes being Hawaiian, or Pineapple.

Hillbilly usually have more blush IMO

Update on my garden :

They are now setting and growing tomatoes. Some are as big as baseball. In the dark group CP, IS and BFT are competing very closely.

That's a really good price for two pounds of heirloom tomatoes. When I first started growing the more unique varieties, I went down to my local farmers market to scout out what they had...the plan was to try some out and save the seeds. They were $3-4 for EACH tomato. I ended up buying seeds online.

Yes, Donna. The price was right. In Kroger store the sell them for $5 per pound. I buy some from time to time.

I wish you were a bit closer to PA. I'm selling heirlooms at local farmers' markets individually in 2 size groups- very large for $2 and large for $1.75 each. The difference between the ones I sell and store bought ones is flavor. Since I don't weigh tomatoes the very large tomatoes can be up to 2 lb. each. I was even considering lowering my prices again but I may just drop hybrid prices for now and wait another week on heirloom prices.
