Distictis vines tend not to be as invasive as Camsis radicans (too many things get called "trumpet vine", imo) and Distictis 'Rivers' vines don't glue themselves to a wall like Distictis buccinatoria do, but they do still have seeds and runners. To me, they are the sames as any other vine and most other plants - don't let them get under your eaves, roofing, or house and then their aggresiveness is a plus. If I didn't want fast growth, I'd plant something besides a vine. In a container or planted at least a six feet away from the house would be my suggestions for royal trumpet vine.

Thanks marc; I was planning on training it to the fence in our backyard. We just put some new windows in our living room and they look out to the fence, so I wanted to put something a little more aesthetically pleasing there.
