IMO painted counters are always bad., you should have just left it alone.

You fix it by replacing them. Period.

More than like you are fixing this, not a reasonable idea to start with and really not a real way to fix other than replace..........

The other posters are right. Painted counters are a terrible idea. With that said, you realize that and are looking for some solution.

First, tell your landlord and get approval for any other steps that you take (preferably in writing). Not only can your landlord keep your deposit, but they could sue you for damages if you do stuff to the rental that he or she did not approve. Also, the landlord might be willing to save you from yourself and replace the counter.

Other potential solutions (and I use the term solution loosely - because these are all terrible ideas and not long-term solutions - they just may be slightly less awful than what you have going on now) include:

• Epoxy paint - you will probably have to sand what you have done, and you will need to let it cure for at least 3 days or longer depending on the manufacturers instructions (i.e., do not use them during this time).
