I have a sister who loves distressed wood and she only has a couple of pieces. In her combined living room/dining room, all of the furniture is traditional but she has a big buffet that is distressed and it looks great!

I think that would work nicely in the room. More important than the wood finishes are the styles, and these all seem to be compatible.
