There is a cluster of these insects on the lower trunk of my young white pine in Wisconsin. They are slowly moving up the trunk and appear to be eating the moss on the north side of the tree. Can anyone tell me what they are. They are very small (perhaps 1/8-1/4 ") and move as a group.
