We are now trying to choose new laminate flooring to put on top of our 60-year-old hardwood. Here are the final two options we ended up with:

Both are AC-4 / 12mm thick.

Left one is Republic brand (OceanDrive color), with a whiter color and has V-groove (we feel it gives more hard-wood-appearance).

Right one is Eternity brand (Cabana collection / Ibiza Color), with some more yellow / pink in it and has a U-groove. (we feel it's warmer for the house).

We know it's totally personal preference. However, we are wondering if anyone has experience with any of these two brands? And, do you guys think these light-colored flooring styles would go out of fashion very soon (seems like these kind of style is fairly newish)? Does the V-groove (better real-wood-appeal) matter to people?
