I am in the process of stripping off the wallpaper and paste and am looking forward to some color. Although not an open concept floor plan, the sitting room opens directly up to the dining room and the dining room directly to the kitchen.

The cabinet and frame wood work is honey oak and in good condition. Coupled with a limited budget, they are unlikly to be painted in this leg but may in the future.

Most of my furniture will remain with a "cherry wood" base. The floral sofa / chair may see a white slip cover but it is not 100%. Floor will eventually be hardwood - probably with a darker stain.

Looking for suggestions that are up-to-date but not so funky that I will need to repaint soon.
