scented geranium and want to tell me how you did it, please do! Sorry, I panicked.

Both Geraniums and Pelagoniums need the same treatment, and that is the complete opposite of what most other cuttings need.

Whereas with most things you collect them in the morning when it's cool and keep them moist (sprayed with water and in a plastic bag), with Gs and Ps you cut a piece off the bush any old time of day and leave it laying around until you get around to dealing with it. (Or they rot.)

I remember my mother-in-law looking aghast at the way I treated the cutting that she brought up for me on one of her (terrifying) visits. However, I explained the situation. Eventually.

And the botanical names, believe it or not, are Geranium and Pelargonium.

I wonder... about how long do you leave it out to callous? Will it look different and I'll be able to tell? I have only rooted 2 calloused cuttings - an aloe and a regular geranium. Actually I may have forgotten to callous the geranium but it grew anyway. And the aloe came pre-calloused from someone's yard.

Confession time. I never 'allowed it to callus'. I just waited until a few days when I deemed it time to put it into some cutting mix and have it grow some roots. So it just looked like an ordinary piece of Pelargonium (I think it was) that some careless so-called gardener had left laying around.
