help w scented geranium

Hello!

I am really hoping I can root some of my scented geranium, which seems to be dying.

Right now, I have several leaf cuttings and a stem cutting in damp/wet perlite. Only half covered. And I dipped in rooting powder.

Then as I was snooping around on here, I saw that some people let their geranium cuttings callous over before they try to root them.

Was I supposed to do that? I don't know the botanical name of this plant, or if it is a pelargonium or a geranium. The leaves are a little but fuzzy, and it has a scent.

There is very little of this plant left, but there is a bit left and I could try again. Any advice?

Also, should I try to root a stem in water?

I am going to post this in House Plants and Container Gardening too. I
am hoping to find people who've done scented geraniums.

Your suggestions appreciated!
