I think it gives you an opportunity to use your accessories to add color. To each his own!

Very sterile looking, but extremely popular right now. I think its something that looks too trendy these days (but I also feel that way about the white+grey kitchen combo that's popular right now). I think some pops of color either in cabinetry or an accented island piece would make it look better

Nope, not for me. Stark, hard to keep clean, and yet so trendy now. I don't get the appeal.

To each his / her own:) I just find it funny that kitchens have gotten so fancy when people cook so little these days.

I also quite like them but with three kids and a dog am hesitant to pull the trigger. I suspect we will do some white and then a different tone for base cabinets or at least island.

I like an all white kitchen. You could do something like this kitchen we just finished.

I love white kitchens and the food you cook will warm the space it’s the people in the house that make a space warm anf friendly.

i like white cabinets, and backsplashes, but i still want a paint color on the wall. (white and grey are not paint colors.)

I love a white kitchen. You can add interest with texture and pattern in tiles or like the absolutely fab kitchen in the comments that had the herringbone floor. I am planning a kitchen remodel with white cabinets but black and white tiles, black hood, black hardware. Yeah white!

We just redid our 25 year old kitchen last summer. When I pulled out my idea book of rooms that I love, all of the kitchens were white!! I have had light oak and medium oak and I like each of them, but my kitchen now....it makes my heart sing every time I walk into it! Of course it is not for everyone. That is why there are so many different types. But I finally have the kitchen of MY dreams!!

Nope, Nope, Nope...Nope...There isn't any color at all, not even in the flowers.

I love white kitchens and soft gray walls, and totally agree that they create a great backdrop for colorful accessories. If there is space, I love to add colorful art in a kitchen. Generally, I find that most people are either in the "light and bright" mindset or in the "rich and dark" mindset. There is certainly no "correct" answer here. You should do what makes you feel good. There is, however, a definite trend toward lighter colors in cabinetry and countertops.

l had my kitchen redone 3 yrs ago. I plan to sell in 2 yrs. I love my light maple cabinets (they also cost a fortune. ) is this "white" trend going to last? any realtors or designers have predictions? appreciate any comments

Love the white kitchens! I think some identify the white modern as cold and stark. There are white kitchens that are warm and traditional that seem more main stream. A white kitchen With texture, color accents and interesting elements is no trend.

My kitchen cabinets are white. Nothing else in the room is white. I LOVE it.

We have a patio home in the Midwest and a beach condo on the Gulf of Mexico. Both kitchens are inside the floor plans with no windows. So of course we went white cabinets & light floors.

My idea book of kitchens had pages that I had ripped out of Southern Living magazines from the early 1980s to the 2010s and they were white kitchens. I tour homes from the 1920s and they had white kitchens. I am not sure it is so much a trend as a backlash against the very dark small kitchens. The pendulum has to swing the other way before it settles in the middle.

jhmarie, loved the article about the luxury white kitchens! But, I have to say, the internet helped me find my voice when I was redoing our kitchen. Although I was not able to afford a lot of the things that I saw, I was able to incorporate the idea of what I saw. I was able to recreate the feeling of what I saw. I loved the EF Sloane light fixtures but could never afford the $900 apiece. But, I was able to take the idea and find the 3 light fixture over our eating area. Not the same fixture, but the same idea.

All white gives you the chance to experiment with different colors, cool positive vibes

White kitchens are a classic for a reason. White works beautifully with just about any design concept, and will stay in style without requiring a remodel every 5 years. You can easily warm up the kitchen with wood or copper tones, or add plants and flowers to make it feel less sterile. We have installed cabinets for several white or almost all-white kitchens, and they always turn out beautifully. That being said, if you don’t love white kitchens don’t do a white kitchen- no reason to design your home to accommodate someone else’s taste. Find a designer who can help you figure out your style so you walk into your kitchen and feel like you are home.

It's a love hate thing for me. I just spent the the better part of the last two weeks painting wood work and doors Ultra pure White in Kitchen, Dining Room, Laundry and bathroom where we upgraded to Peak White porcelain. I love how it brings light into rooms with little to no windows. But i hate sterile all white kitchens that show every spill. I will keep my golden oak cabinets but look forward to White quartz countertops and backsplash. White is clean and classic but needs some color to add life.
