Very pretty

the blue ginger is beautiful! And it blooms 2 or 3 times a year and the blooms are long lasting! You have a winner!

Beautiful! I had a blue ginger. It bloomed once, die down for the winter, and I never saw it again. I was so sad.

Wow, very pretty. I've never seen a blue ginger..

Envious!

Holy smokes, Helen! How amazing!

Do you take it out for a car ride often?

Still waiting on mine to bloom for the first time. Cuttings from Costa Rica.

Hey, Ricky

Did the one I sent you survive?

If I recall, I sent a division of my big one that's beginning to bloom. Or maybe I sent a cutting. . . . I don't remember now. I have a bunch of cuttings rooted and ready to go into gallon pots. I wonder how big they have to be before they'll bloom.

No, Susie. They just rotted away. These are from the rhizomes I dug up in Costa Rica.

So sorry they didn't live.

But it's way cooler that you have plants from another country!

Can't wait to see pics of those first blooms.

Lol Susie, that was the ride home from USF when I bought her and she was just so pretty I had to snap a picture.

Ricky, I can send you a small plant getting ready to bloom. The leaves are bleached out cause I was trying it in a sunny location as a trial. PM me your address again if you want it. ;)

Ps SUsie, my cuttings start flowering at less than 10" tall

Thanks Helen, I have a dozen rooted cuttings getting close to ten inches. I was planning to put them in my next plant sale but now I think I will plant them and have a huge clump in my shade garden.

I just read that they grow to be 5 to 8 feet tall. My biggest one is tall as me. I am thinking of a view-blocking hedge if it lives through winters here. (Sorry for your loss, Deb) That's a painful thought.
