I am replacing an alcove tub with a free standing tub, 30" high (on high side) and 61" long. In the absence of a window or some other design feature on the wall, what is the recommended height of my new marble tile surrounding the freestanding tub? Tile is 12" x 12" and I would like to avoid cuts. I am afraid that 48" will make the tub feel like a "well". The new tub will have tiled wall on 2 sides and shower glass on the other side.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
