I got some really nice Spanish Lime over the weekend so i tried nicking them. I also planted 4 seeds completely peeled (i read somewhere that that might work too) and 4 seeds without manipulating them. Hopefully it will work!

Ok, so if anybody is interested peeling the chenette (spanish lime) seeds worked perfectly. All 4 seed i planted germinated and shot out of the ground in about two weeks. I also tried the water-soaking method and there too i got all 3 seeds to grow. (see photo) I also found sweet tamarind in a local nursery so that problem is solved too... :)

for future reference, ive found the plants like to have live biology in the soil. compost, worm castings etc... Longan and Lychee (relative) especially seem to require it
