Really need to see the whole space to make sense of this. But as it is a basement, what about a card table for games and puzzles, a foosball table, air hockey table, or pool table? Or a cozy chair, bookshelf, and lamp for reading? Really need a lot more information to suggest something specific to your space and needs.

Depending on the length of the wall a Shuffleboard table would look nice there! Also as stated above a game or card table would go well in the space. If you wanted to keep the room more casual a pub/bistro table with stools may be a good addition also.
