I like the design that was completed but was unsure if some of the design elements were 'correct' Pillars-would like to get reclaimed brick to match existing house. Is it worth it or match siding(the siding on the small addition is getting replaced with fake cedar shakes or vertical siding). Also what size of posts would be good? I was thinking bigger than 6x6, but not bigger than 8x8... I was going to stain posts dark colour, so no natural coloured natural wood except ipe decking. Brings me to my next question, would i be ok to run deck boards and bead board ceiling length wise, or should i run one material width wise?
