#1

#2. I'm having a really hard time finding the right spot for this one and desperate for a name so I can look up how to care for it. I burned it:( I couldn't get a good pic of the little white flowers. Photo bombers.
#3. I think it and #2 need a bigger pot. I think I'm burning it as well. :(

Thanks! I have never heard of the first two, and never even seen an arrowroot plant. Mucho appreciated! Now I can take better care. <3

Wow. Number 1 smells like rotten cilantro real bad. Yikes!

Yes, that smell would confirm it :-) My suggestion would be to get rid of it ASAP!! It is far more aggressive than its brightly colored cousin and will try to take over your garden.......even from a container. Just do a search on many of these forums for "chameleon plant" and see what others have to say.

Are these from that truckload of gifted plants you received? If so, I will say that many "gifted plants" are so gifted because they are running rampant in their previous owner's garden!! Just a word to the wise.........:-)

Thank you! Yes, these were among the gifted plants. :( Totally bummed I really like the way it looks and wanna get other people to smell it too because it's just so unreal. Haha! I just read that could be a pond plant. I have two small ponds and no water plants. Worth a shot? Or shooting myself in the foot?

I also just read a blog post about someone dealing with it for 10+ years. I don't wanna be that person. And I don't wanna smell it for the rest of my life. Haha. I am going to follow your advice and just add it to the burn pile.

Thank you for saving my life! Lol

I would actually put it in the trash rather than the burn pile since that will prevent any possibility of escape if a piece gets missed.

Thank you, you're right. And although it's so small, I'd hate to find out what it smells like when it burns. Ick!

I'd ferment it in a bucket until it's surely dead &/or decomposed. Organic matter is organic matter, all valuable, and after I've gone to the effort of pulling or digging an unwanted plant, I want something in return, which is for that material to go back to the soil. The trick is to make sure one doesn't just "re-plant" something in/near a compost pile or let it grow so long that it has produced viable seeds.

I strongly encourage you to investigate having a compost pile instead of a burn pile, if your burn pile isn't just the bigger woody material that won't compost in a timely manner.

I do have a compost but it's more like vermicompost so it would for sure just grow in there. Everything grows in there Haha. I never burn stuff i can add to my compost or feed to my chickens. I guess I was just a little confused about what to do with it.

The burn pile is for large tree limbs that fall and old boards, we burn when friends come to visit, and that's like twice a year I guess I figured it would just dry up there. So in a bucket it goes! Thanks!
