Concrete Countertop Seam

We just had concrete countertops and a concrete sink installed and I am quite happy with it all except for the one area in the kitchen where the seam between two slabs is. As I watched it being installed I saw the discoloration on either side of the seam and figured it would be addressed somehow before sealing and waxing. But the discoloration is still there. I love the "natural" color variation, but this clearly looks man-made and out of place. My installer says it's a "feature" just like other imperfections. I'm not willing to accept that. Any advice on how to fix this at this point would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
