It has that warm glow thing going on that many people seem to love and I find oppressive. Looks comfy, though.

I like this room, however one thing I would change is to make the coffee table non-shiny. I like the mix of patterns

While I always prefer warm rooms, this one is a bit too warm for me. It needs some large windows that look out on leafy green trees!

The walls and trim in our master bedroom are nearly identical to those in the picture - BM Blond Wood and BM Alpine White. But there is, in addition to the strong tan tone, a lot of blue, from deep teal to aqua, plus some greens and reds. The furniture is pine, maple, and some white painted pieces, so the feeling is not so intense.

It would be a great room in a Chicago winter, though!

    I'd feel comfortable visiting here.

I like it. While my lifestyle is much more casual, this is very nice.

Wow! That's very similar to my living room.

I'm on a different computer now--which doesn't render colors as the other--and I like it better. This laptop shifts yellows a bit toward green. The effect on the pic is as if someone had changed out the warm white incandescent light bulbs for cool, or maybe even daylight, bulbs.

It looks very cozy! I could hang out in that work with a nice glass of wine and a wonderful book and not leave for a long time!

If that's a night time photo, I like it (except for all those panels on the wall). If it's day time, it's too dark and closed in for me.

Looks too showroom for me. Where are the windows and natural light?

I like this very much, it has a super comfortable appeal, and seems to get everyday use given the cozy wear and slump on the cushions, Even the arm covers are in place as if the room is used frequently for family time. I also like the very small patterns used instead of color contrast, and that rug pattern is IMHO opinion perfect scale for the other patterns. Can't tell for sure, but it might be the kitchen right next to this room, even more perfect.

Anyone know what color paint is on the walls? This is similar to the color I would like to paint my DR.

This room has a lot of good things going for it, but for me another color at least would have to be introduced and a more interesting and colorful rug. The arm protectors on the chairs would have to come off. I don't care for the wall panel art; for me it would be a gallery wall with interesting and colorful paintings. There's a lack of personality and individuality, but the room is elegant, serene and comfortable.

I don't mind the colors, but I get "hungry" for a little bit of blue to contrast with all that amber/rust vibe. A blue and white china bowl would do the trick. Also, chandys with exposed bulbs are so painful to my eyes, I can't even go there.

I wouldn't be uncomfortable visiting there and like a lot of things about it, but overall, it's not a look I would want to live with. I just had 12 years of the great brown hall -- with the warm red and gold. It was warm and I really liked it, but I'm over it (but DS has parts of those furnishings in his apt and they lok good there -- white walls and more color in the rug -- some blue and green too ).

Too beige for me. I'm definitely in the cooler color camp. However, I like the large maps. Could be easily done with large engineering prints.

Imo, the vibe is that of a very classy room. When there is too much color, that's all you can focus on, and not the overall feel of the space. It detracts from whatever beauty there might be otherwise, like too many accessories, or too many pictures. The calming neutral walls give precedence to the items that should be focused on, the beautiful fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as bringing out what little color is used in the pillows. There's always a happy medium, it just needs to be found. On a side note, I do find the room to be a little dated. Removing the polished brass chandelier, arm guards, and skirted sofa could bring it up to date.
