Giant Amaryllis ... Not

Hi, everyone. I'm a native New York City gal and recently moved to the Caribbean. I've gone from a third-floor cactus & succulent windowsill garden to making new botanical discoveries.

Here's one almost 4' tall, planted in-ground. Since there are tons of Amaryllis bulbs on the property, I thought this giant bulb may be in the same family. It was uncared for before i arrived ... I've fertilized every other month Mar - Nov. It bloomed for the first time in a year and smells divine! What is it?

    It is a member of the large Amaryllis family "Crinum Amabile",which is a cross between Crinum Zeylanicum and Crinum Asiaticum.Zeylaniucum is about 18" tall with a bulb up to about 8".It has maroon/cranberry and white striped trumpet like flowers,with a slight scent.Asiaticum grows to six feet and has no bulb,but a stalk with roots.It has a slight scent in its white flowers.. Amabile inherited the bulbless root system of asiaticum.It grows to about 4 1/2 feet.Amabile has the nicest fragrance I have ever smelled in an Ammarylid.It will fill a whole house,but not be overpowering. I have been unable to get its pollen, or ovaries to breed.
