Seeing your rug there makes me think wood could be the darker version of Topsail, for a delicate low-contrast look.

I've lived with so much of that wood, that it doesn't exactly bother me, don't love it either. Could leave vanity bottom as it is [or color of sink], but painted your own unit? highlight the shape near top. Wallpaper in the back of it, etc....

1st, of all, don't worry, have fun. 2nd, paint is easy to change and not very expensive for a vanity cabinet 3rd, remember that a color sample will be much lighter looking than what you get when you paint the cabinet 4th, have fun, remodeling is tough enough as it is without worrying.

I thought of curtain's grey too / when you check you can see if that'll look best with tan-beige floor....

Love that topsail and your curtain! Since your floor is a warm tone, I'd do either white/off-white or a very light warmish grey. I think that a blue or gray is going to make the floor look even warmer by contrast. Blue is opposite orange on the color wheel, and will bring out the more orange tones in the tan floor by contrast. Personally, I'd go with a white as close to the color of the counter and fixtures as possible. A light bathroom is clean and fresh. If your floor was white, I'd consider a darker color.

Just thought - save money of paint, and place 2 cute knobs on the vanity.

But shine up the wood.
