Hi All - looking for some advice. Pictured is the living room of my small condo. The couch and run are centered on a fireplace that is straight ahead. Sorry the room is a bit messy. I'm not sure what to do in the area to right of the couch in the photo. Currently there is just a table that goes somewhere else. I want to build an end table, but the space is almost 34" wide to the wall/window. That is too big for an end table right?

I feel like a table that doesn't fill the space would leave an awkward open space, but filling the space will be too much 'table'. Any ideas are greatly appreciated! FYI: The couch is around 28 deep, arms at 24" high, and 34" opening as I stated above.
