We are removing the cedar shakes on our house due to their condition. Sadly the shakes have been destroyed by carpenter bees/woodpeckers and we found rot behind the shakes. We decided on LP smartside, but cannot decide on the style (board & batten, lap, shake) or the color. The mix of textures is dynamic and it would be ideal if it went well with our dark grey roof ( which you can see in one of the photos).

All ideas are welcome! Initially we thought of board and batten and shakes in the gables in some shade of grey with bronze aluminum soffits fascia and trim board.
