What is the name and brand of the white cabinet paint? Are you keeping the fabric valance to use as a color cue?

Pick out a lighter color from the countertop for the paint. That will help tie it together. Get a large swatch and make sure it looks good against the new cabinet color and the flooring. You can do a similar thing for the tile backsplash. When you have the tile installed, remove small backsplash/lip of the countertop. This will prevent it from looking too choppy.

Was going to say you don't need a tile backsplash as you already have the counter extending up the wall, but if you add the former, remove the latter. Also, it's time to remove the wallpaper trim along the ceiling all the way around...

You could do a greyish-beige color wall. That would look nice and if the counter tops have any grey, it will bring that color out. Oil rubbed bronze or even satin nickel hardware would go nicely. Also, switch out the hinges to the same color as the pulls. Take a look at some of our hardware and let us know if you have any questions:

Like the large window over the sink. Changing window treatment can change the look of a room considerably. Consider adding a stained glass sun catcher panel to your kitchen window instead of a fabric valance to bright add color to the room after adding all that white on the cabinets.

Have you considered painting just your island base cabinet with a color other than white? Using the island as a bar means there is the potential for shoe scuff marks on the side of the cabinet that will show up more with it being stark white.

Red would even work well with the brown counter tops and you could always repaint the base in the future when you change out the counter tops.

Your counter top already has a 4" back splash -- wouldn't add more unless and until you're changing out the counter-top and the 4" horizontal tile, too.

Almost any wall color would go with the white cabinets and your neutral floor so focus on having your wall color coordinate with the (brown?) counter tops. If you want neutral, you could choose a shade of tan (or a pale brown and w/o the pink or yellow hue) darker than the floor but lighter than the counter tops for your walls and don't add any wall paper trim tape to the top of the newly painted slightly darker walls.

I put most of my fridge magnets on the lesser seen side to reduce the "clutter" effect on the room -- clutter never helps the look of a room. Stowing away the dish drain and any small appliances when not in use could help, too, and give you more counter top space as well.

NO GLAZE they always look dirty as for paint colr how about a nice watery blue with the brown take the wallpaper off remove the valance on the window and get rid of the clutter on the counters and the stuff on the fridge. You already have a backsplash and I would just leave it as is . How about some funky colored stools.
