it is a lovely room, like the flower upholstered chair, the only thing i think this room might want is a bigger table in the centre of the room...

The room is lovely. Very traditional. I like the colonial color scheme and your Persian rug. Is that a semi-antique Mahal?
Carol was correct about a larger coffee table. I would add an accent pillow to each of the green club chairs. A primarily red fabric with a small print, something along the lines of the fabric on the footstool.
I'm sorry to say I don't care for the plates on the windows. They seem out of place. I thought about where they could be relocated to, but I think the room has enough on the walls.
Your use of lamps is nice and balances the light effectively. Well done.

I think this is a lovely and original room. The mural is amazing and a great wall feature.
I agree with Chroma about the plates. As you like symmetry could you not hang two vertically by the windows on either side of the fireplace between the mantel and the upper window? It feels more like a collection rather than a disparate group and gives them more "oompf" (Technical term).

Also as you can seat so many people, it is true you either need a bigger coffee table or need to lots of small side tables.
    Lovely room

Thanks for posting it...It looks very nice close up. Maybe a little of the sky blue color in accessories?

Love the room and agree with larger coffee table and lose the plates over the windows on side of FP.

It's a lovely room.If you don't want large coffee table, you can put 2 cubes with mirrors at all sides.

I would put a few baby blue cushions in there to set the mural off.

OMGosh, gorgeous room! The mural is just incredible! What a treasure, all the more special because it is from a relative! The only thing I would change, unless it is my monitor, is the color of the crown molding. Is it the same color as the fireplace? Hard to tell. I would like a federal blue type color instead of what looks like green. I don't like the green next to the blue in the mural.

Wonderful San Francisco mural - talented lady! I too had my eye pulled to the plates. I would remove them and the shelves, perhaps adding fabric roman shades to each of those windows and the draped ones as well. Extend the rods past the windows so the panels just cover the frames and can be left stationary while the shades do the work of making for privacy and light control. Consider finding a chair to sit at the secretary, so that it looks ready to be used when the desk portion is dropped. That stool could be eliminated along with the small coffee table. Very warm and welcoming room!
