Just before cold weather she allowed me to dig it up and transfer it into a pot which I placed in my unheated greenhouse. Ordinary basil does not last long in there once the days get shorter and the nights are colder. However, this plant never showed any signs of stress and kept it flowers all winter. I took cuttings in the spring and returned the original plant to my neighbor. Recently i recommended it to Gerald Adams at Campbell Rd Nursery and he ordered a flat of plants. When I was there today, I saw them on a table of perennials, all of which are on sale for a buck including some nice Batface Cuphea, pentas, etc.
