So I've had the one in the middle for a year, last year it started to bloom but dropped all its buds. This year it started to leaf out very nicely, but has started to drop all its leaves. It's got one cluster of flower buds. The first one had a whole bunch of flower buds but has dropped almost all. That one I bought last summer. The 3rd one I bought this spring. Looks like II will be loosing the buds on that as well. Any thoughts? New to this site. Sorry if the answers are already here some where. By the way I've lost two others coming out if winter

Without any additional information, I am somewhat concerned that the media looks a bit too heavy. I probably use one of the heaviest media here (lots of natural) and I still have to use bark chunks or it gets too thick.

My zone varies between 7b, 8a, 8b. This is all new to me. When you say media, i assume dirt? I have a catuse mix by miracle grow. The one with flower is a cactus blend also, local brand. That one tends dry quickly. The dirt is dark because of moisture. Temps this week have been well over 100°. Generally in the 90s this time of year. I have to bring them in once the Temps start to go below 45°. 45°. I Lost my mother's this winter. It was a 7 year old plant, it rotted, my husband gave it a bucket full of water. I lost one of mine also in early spring, not sure if it was too much water or not enough and a glazed pot. I have fertilized but not sure what it was. My mom gave me stuff she'd been using on hers. The middle plant the leaves are also deformed at times, start at small and curl. I'm watering like every four days with this current heat. Anything helps. Thank you. I would like to order another or 2, not sure where, the ones I have are from logees, or from qvc

Does your cactus mix have a lot of sand in it? or what? The soil looks heavy.

What has your humidity been. I have been having low humidity 13%. with high heat 100. The flowers and new seedling sprouts need more water. It is hard to tell what yours need. I had mine in the house but my house was to cool. Do you not have them outside because you have had rain? Where in Oregon Coast or inland?

I have some concern about the middle second pic. Can we get a closer pic of the tips of the branches? Is this one also grafted? Or from seed? The caudex's look firm am I right?

I don't know if it's from seed or grafted, came from qvc. Last year. And yes it's firm. The dirt is dark because I just watered them yesterday. Inland, 3 hours from the coast. humidity isnt much, the weather station says about 34% and I think that's high, hasn't been that high. it's a miracle grow cactus blend. Mine are outside. We haven't had any rain in a cple months.

That blend might do ok where you are at. Just stick your finger in it about and inch and see if it is dry when watering.

Those tips had leaves right? Are they firm? I could not blow the pic up to see closer. When was the last time you used fertilizer and what kind also how often do you fert?

I just can't get around the fact that a lot of US growers refer to soil, earth, media, compost etc as 'dirt'! To me here in the UK dirt is rubbish, something that's dirty, horrible and needs to be thrown away! Just mentioning, no offence meant to anyone :-) I guess it's just another one of those 'across the pond' language differences we keep finding!

There are so many of these funny things between us. I often watch a UK program where they refer to trunks of cars as "boots", hoods as "bonnets" (like a hat), engines as "lumps", and transmissions as "gearbox".

They also use some unknown form of money called a quid, and might even charge you a "bag of sand" for something.

Sorry we got of topic. I would be tempted to check the roots and see how they are doing. Many of us use different Ferts Popular is a 9-6-3 Dyna gro. I tried time released,

If you want to check the roots you can loosen the soil with a quick soak in a bowl of water.

A little apprehensive to do that. Will it go into shock? But will do whatever you guys suggest. How about the other 2 dropping theirs flower buds or drying(flowers buds) out before hand! Again thanks for your time!

I think that soil is too heavy and the plant is over-potted. The photos are not so clear but the deformation in the young leaves may mean an infestation of some sort that feed on leaf and flower buds. If this was my plant, I will dig it out, wash it thoroughly, spray it with a 50-50 solution of alcohol and water (the easiest to get on short notice, neem oil solution is better). Then it should be allowed to dry for a day in the shade before repotting it in a significantly lighter substrate of 30 percent potting soil and 70 percent perlite (also the easiest to get on short notice; but sifted pumice is much better.)

Definitely ditch the cactus soil.

The NPK ratio you want for adeniums, ideally, is actually 9-3-6. The fertilizer you are using could also be causing these problems.

Check if your neem oil is a solution already. In this case you can treat
your plant with it directly. If you have pure neem oil, you have to mix
it with water---about a tablespoon of it in 2 gallons of water. Then
add a couple of drops of dish soap, mix well before using as spray. If
you are spraying, spray all parts of the plant. After spraying, keep it
in shade for a day.

If you are making a solution yourself, using pure neem oil, note that the solution doesn't keep so mix only as much as you will need. Adjust the proportions accordingly.

You are really being patient with us. Few more questions. What is the fert numbers on the bag or the main ingredient? These plant are hardy. It may look like we are torturing the thing but it is what we do to make it better. These can be out of soil and hung up in Thailand they will hang them for a month or more. It is in shock now. We are trying to pull it out and make it work. We will try to talk you through each step.

Neem oil is use about 1/2 strength in a spray bottle with a dash of dish soap shake well. This must dry. Not sun for awhile but since you are going to take it out and look at it, It won't be in the sun

when potting a plant and choosing the pot size we go by the root depth usually 3" to 5" deep and 2.5" around from the pot edge to the caudex.

So you have some next steps, Share the roots and lets us know what you want to do next?

I went ahead and sprayed it, only I didn't use soap with it? Hope that's not a problem? I bought a new soil and pumice. Hope you can see that. If not I will type it out. Will the oil affect the buds and blooms? Thank you so much for all of your guys time.
