Our Daughters's Bathroom

When we purchased our home, we knew we had many renovations in front of us but this project was first on our list. The shower was abysmally small and the entry to it was difficult to navigate. The fixtures were dated and the overall space was very dark. We were shocked by how much larger the space seemed just by changing the entry and merging the tub and shower into one wet space. The entire what space is lined with a shower pan and sloped to a center drain. The tub is set on the finished floor. The Kohler escutcheon styled spigot flows into the tub and any water that misses the tub simply drains to the center drain. We reoriented the shower head to an overhead rain head. Overall we are thrilled with the change and she loves her new space.

The floor tile is Carrera marble, the shower curbs and baseboards are white opaque glass and the wall tile is Italian Porcelain Opalo Bianco.

I did source and make all the design and material choices. I'm not a designer or architect by any stretch but I have done several homes of ours in the past and I have enjoyed it. My daughter had wanted agate but I that was not an item I would budget for in space that size in a guest bathroom. Fortunately, we were able to find a porcelain tile that looks great and was priced reasonably.

Yes, the wetspace is 5.5ft wide by 8.25ft long.

Very stylish! Has it been installed long enough to tell us how you clean around the tub? I guess hosing it all down should go a long way towards stray hairs....I am guessing you are not on a well....

Actually this project was completed in January and has had 9 months of daily use, the areas of floor between the tub and wall are still pristine. The glass wall cuts down on dust, hair and general dirt. The shower head is 7.5 ft away and with sloped floor nothing like hair or product is flowing to that area. Here is a pic I just took without cleaning beforehand. Typically though I use a long handled microfiber paddle and hose it down when we clean the shower. Keeping in mind there is quite a bit of grout in this tile design if it weren't sloped appropriately standing water could be an issue.
We are on city water.
