I'm not sure from the picture what you are trying to accomplish. IMO its too late to graft. I would stake it and straighten for now.

Sorry guess I wasn't very clear. I also meant to see if I cut it several inches below the split then try to root from there...

I'd cut it near the top of the main trunk, allowing that potted now single stemmed portion to re-grow.

Next split your "v" shaped upper portion in two, strip the leaves off and root those two former branches individually.

*Find a rooting method that works for you, there are many...lol!

I agree with tunatony. I've tried rooting below the V before, and while it works, you get a weak base, and they often split again at the V later.

You'll have one plant about half as tall as previous, and it should branch nicely since it's already rooted.

You will also have two new trees when they root!

A third vote for cutting above the V and rooting those two branches as separate future plants. the trunk that remains in the pot will likely put out new branches very near cut point. I don't know where you live, if warm country, you can do it now. If northern climate, do all the cutting and the rooting next spring.

I would take a knee and envision what you are wanting this plant to do. If you are trying to shorten then the recommendations above sound right. You end up with three to five plants of which two are almost guaranteed not to bloom for some time and the two cuttings with tips have a small chance to produce a bloom for a year or two. Plus whatever you have left from the first branch that broke. Now you have a handful of plants and limited potential for blooms for a couple of years. Its also not a guarantee that you will get multiple tip growth from the parent plant after you cut it.

All of which is OK if that is what you want. Its kind of a sacrifice now and take a chance on a better shape by pruning or make the best out of the form that is left. There isn't a wrong answer either way.
