Looked up pictures of this eucalyptus. The pink flowers of this eucalyptus species look a lot like Lillypilly or Hawaiian Mountain Apple (Syzygium).

Many people would say there is probably too much eucalyptus planted in Southern California, but good for you planting a less common species.

I would imagine it will be a very drought tolerant and low-maintenance ornamental.

The Eucs in CA are mostly the weedy E. globulous. A few E. globulous in the neighborhood have actually died from drought, hooray!

There are some beauties like the OP's, or like E. rhodantha. I never thought to have a Eucalyptus in the garden since we are plagued with seedlings and torrents of litter from the neighbor's pestilential E. globulous weeds, but got E. 'Moon Lagoon' recently. It forms a lignotuber so can be cut to the ground when it gets too large and will grow back afresh. The juvenile foliage is the ornamental feature.
