I think the white option would be the best to maximize light.

I would do roman shades on the windows and leave the door alone

Great advice JudyG....we have a track already inside the bay but I can see why you are suggesting to extend rod onto wall beside window. We dont want to fully block off the bay because it is such a small room (i.e. get a straight rod across the window) but I guess we could source a curved rod which extends beyond window?

I wouldn't do drapes, I would so another type of window treatment in the blind family. I think that room is too dark and you need to find another picture to hang over the fireplace.

Just run a new rod on the real wall. If you choose a white drapery, why not paint the entire "niche" white, as well. It will recess the bay area.

I just chose B M black horizon ( hint of blue undertone) for my client's dining room walls. Lots of white woodwork, as is yours, Looks fantastic.

I took a color seminar and one of the first things the instructor told us that was for a small room with little natural light, always choose a saturated color. Have to have the lights on anyway, so why do white and have it turn yellow in lamplight?

awesome colored room! You could do any curtain color. I would personally go with white sheers and a lavender for the curtain. maybe even a metalic thread??

I dislike curtains in a bay. They always look awkward hung inside, and silly when hung outside. I would do shutters or roman shades.

I would still have 2 panels on side with a white and grey pattern. Shutters alone are a colder look, drapes are good for coziness.

Never put the track inside the bay but half way to the ceiling outside and at leat 15-20" on side walls. Your window will look bigger and the room will be really comfy and finished, fabric gives that look.
