I bought a machine !!!!!!!!!

I am so excited. I bought a sewing machine and I can't wait to make some quilt blocks.

I stopped sewing about 10 years ago and have often thought it was something I wanted to do again.

It's still in the car waiting on someone else to get home to carry it in for me. I was to tired to try to set it up tonight so I watched some videos and have really enjoyed looking over this forum for inspiration.

Yipeeeeeeeeee, i have a new sewing machine :)

That's fantastic. What kind of machine did you get? I got a great one a few months ago on Craiglist at a steal of a price.

Good for you! You may want to try the Block Lotto - a different block each month. It will give you a chance to try things out. We look forward to having you join us!

Did they offer you some free training? If so, be sure you take advantage of it. When I got my new machine it was so advanced from my old Kenmore from 1971 I was in the dark about all the new features of the newer machines. I did do some testing before I got an appointment for the lesson but it did help to have someone point out the basics.

Yes, They made sure I had the basics down before I left even though it was well after their closing time and yes they do free owners lessons. I am going to schedule in another week or so when I am more familiar with machine.

Good for you. What a wonderful gift for yourself. You'll enjoy taking your time and learning to quilt. The sewing machine store will be your biggest help and then you move on to the fabric store next. Better save your pennies. Welcome. And, if you are close to North Carolina, drop in at the retreat. You'll have a room full of quilting teachers who love to see new faces.

How fun! I remember how great it was to buy a new machine and start sewing again. It was only 5 or 6 years ago. I have had so much pleasure from it. And I have "met" all the wonderful quilters on this forum. Welcome, Sunnysmom!

Pfaff's are great machines. I love vintage machines but sew mainly on my Pfaff 2030. Good purchase for you.
