Your cupboards look a little on the pinkish hues. I would go bold and put in a black backsplash. Or not sure if you want to hear this, but paint the cupboards white and a neutral backsplash. If you can more pictures of the room would help.

Nevenam, funny you say that b/c that was the original plan but we weren't able to find the same slab anywhere. Hence why we are now looking for other options. It quite difficult for me lol

I found a tumbled travertine mix called Irish Cream that might look great. It comes in 3x6 so you could have the classic subway pattern with added interest of mixed color and texture. It also looks great with light cabinets. Hard to tell the color of you granite in the picture. It might have more gray than I can make out. The travertine could be light or darkened with an enhancer.

Tumbled stone backsplashes are a pain to clean and IMO a very dated look plus that tile has no connection to the counter at all. You could do gray glass subway tile laid vertically or these with some stainless in them and I also see pink cabinets IMO if that is the case you should probably look at having them painted white.

Without knowing what style your house is (I do traditional), take a look at Fasade tiles.

I would go with ceramic with some decorative tile & trim as focal point above the range.
