90's kitchen

White tile floor, white Formica countertops, pickled oak cabinets. I'm okay with the cabinets, but the countertop has to go. I really don't want to get rid of the floor due to the expense. I would like granite or quartz countertops, but I am concerned about the white floor standing out like a sore thumb! How dark, or light, should I go with the countertop?

I don't think it is worth the $$$ to replace those counters. They look fine. Take the paper and magnets off the fridge, d/w, and cabinets and replace the rug in front of the sink with a striped mat from Dash and Albert in lighter colors. Buy coordinating dish towels. Replace the blinds over the sink. Don't spend thousands on new counters to go on top of partial overlay pickled oak cabinets and a white floor.

I love that you are looking into upgrading your counters. Try bringing home samples of light to medium grey quartz. These will contrast nicely with your oak cabinets and work well with your appliances. A white backsplash could help tie in your existing floor. Good luck!

A darker countertop material might help to tie in the slate appliances. Including more of the kitchen in your pics may be helpful in generating more suggestions.

Okay, kinda what I was thinking-that I need to go light. Hadn't thought about the backsplash. That makes sense to tie in with the floor. Thanks! Keep the ideas coming! I love Houzz!
