tough pix ... first in too much sun .. second glare ...

one thing to my eye.. it doesnt look like a spire .... looks more like a globosa .... any indication of a cut off leader ?????

its also hard to figure out where they were shipped in from ... could be part of the issue ...

ken

I just looked at the receipt and it says little Giant arborvitae, which looks to be correct from the pics on the Internet.

Look chamaecyparis pisifera cv . Your plant don't look like the label !

Definitely a Thuja rather than a Chameacyparis but the tag is wrong, wrong wrong!! It could very well be a 'Little Giant' arborvitae - it fits that better than anything else - but I wouldn't put any stock in the accuracy of the receipt any more than I would the attached label!

Yes I see this at home depot often

its fun to get a bargain at bigboxstore ... as long as your not all wrapped up in perfection of naming protocol ...

it looks a lot like my 'globosa'.. i will have to find out if i have a yellow version of such ...

I think Chamaecyparis pisifera cultivar, too.

Dax

I hate to differ with Dax and Clement, but I'm leaning GG48's way. Looks like Thuja to me as well. The branching on the branchlets just seems more Arb to my eye.

My initial impression is that the close-up shot shows a Sawara and not an arborvitae.

OK, that's three strikes. I'm out.

Next thing for anyone on the scene looking into this would be to make in person comparisons between the foliage of the plant in question with those of known Sawara and arborvitaes to see which it matches.

Yes, it's a chamaecyparis pisifera, any thuja plicata look like that,.

If Little giant ,,maybe yellow cultivar,,,,Little Dieent
