if you want to add a dynamic to the kitchen - why not raise it on a step ?!
just that area (from the rear edge of the island all the way to the window - and from the fridge to the peninsular - leaving the walkway from hall and closet door area at normal floor height - just one step up will make quite a difference ?!
also if the height really bothers you you could put a bulkhead in over the same area too - with functional down lights in all the key areas !

To me, the upper cabinetry is not in proportion to the rest of the space. The cabinets look like 3 boxes hanging on the wall. Have you considered adding additional cabinets and taking them to the ceiling (more storage) or like OnePlan said adding functional bulkeads with lighting in key areas.

Microwave - under the counter or on the counter? I ask because I see the venthood above range. If looking for as much counterspace as possible or an uncluttered look, consider under the counter or a spot in the upper cabinetry.

As well, the refrigerator seems disconnected from the rest of the kitchen. Was there a reason it was placed on that wall? Is it possible to perhaps look into reconfiguring the pantry and powder room so the refrigerator can be better integrated with the rest of the kitchen and not be separated by a pantry door?

Finishes play an important role in the look of a kitchen. They are also easy(ier) to change down the road. First make sure you are comfortable with the layout.

I agree, the fridge looks out of place on the 3D Architect floor plan. Perhaps try moving it to the exterior wall by the stove. Also not a fan of the staircase landing directly in the kitchen, but there that involves changing the layout of the entire house.

I agree with the comments you've received so far. The upper cabinetry seems disjointed from the base and the fridge location isn't ideal. What is on the wall opposite the window wall? Would you have the room to put the fridge and a wall of cabinetry there? (Then you could possibly eliminate the uppers on the window wall in favour of open shelving.)

I think the fridge would look more connected if the cabinets on the window wall connected to the fridge wall.If the pantry next to the fridge was the same height as the rest of the cabinets it would bridge some of that disjunction.Perhaps you can place a corner cabinet to connect those two walls.
Moving the fridge to the opposite wall means you would have to go around the island every time you needed something from the fridge, which would quickly get old.
Maybe you could have display lit niches built above the cabinets for large pot/ baskets or something like that if you don't want a sofit to decrease the boxes on wall look.The contrast in color also accentuates that.

The wall cabinets to the ceiling would be a great and add a bridge/valance above the window to connect them, The appliances sizes are very critical on your design fridges are often bulky please take this in consideration when finalizing the details of your layout.
