What duvet cover with this rug?

Got this rug and realized the current duvet clashes pretty badly. Not sure what to put with it? I would say the room is somewhat bohemian in feel, but not cluttered at all. There is a stone fireplace, built-in cabinets with my grandfather's old books in them (a lot have gold print on the spines)

Duvet would spend most of it's life folded up at the foot of the bed. The bedspread is a simple white one from Pottery Barn. We have matching euro pillows in this style.

I was thinking maybe gold (not sparkly) and white striped? But I can't really find that anywhere. Maybe solid blue? There was a pretty reasonably priced dark blue duvet cover at Ikea. Maybe keep it solid white?

Maybe a slight print will work if it's light/neutral or a solid denim blue might look nice

I would go with a solid (especially if it will be folded most of the time) and use the light blue in the rug. Then add some lux velvet pillows (some with a pattern). I'm not sure if the paint color works with the rug. The books and your oriental rug hopefully will feel a bit like the room below - airy and classic. You could incorporate the gold with a brass mirror, lamps, or chandelier.

White! I'm always a fan of plain, gorgeous, crisp white...esp. with a rug with that much color and pattern...then you can add pillows that pick up the other colors/patterns...have fun! :)

Thanks everyone! It appears as though they have a medium or navy blue solid cover in stock at the Bed Bath and Beyond near my house--I will swing by and grab one on my way home for work and post a picture of the room afterwards!

The rug actually isn't that "loud" in person. But it also helps that it's underneath the bed so I would say 75% of it is being covered!

It's a great rug, I don't see a problem with the white. And don't listen to cpaul.

This is what I ended up going with! I used the white bed spread I had from Pottery Barn--and I found a velvet comforter set from QVC that I'm obsessed with.
