Yah...failure of finish on day 1 is a good indication of what is coming. A GOOD lacquer finish should have NO PROBLEMS at time of install. It should be able to banged around for YEARS before this happens (like 10 - 15 years before you see the FIRST chip).

You are seeing chips on day ZERO (before completion). Stop the install and have the lacquer tested for adhesion failure. Don't let this go any further. The more they install the less likely they will want to remove and refinish.

Start the complaint TODAY....before they get too far. Stop the work and start the discussion as to what needs to be done to correct this issue. Start with the BOSS and go from there. The "boots on the ground" will want to tell you it is "normal"...don't listen to them. Go to management with your photos.
