It is so sad to see that all of you have had the same experience as I…. Our floor was j stalled 4 years ago and still is horrible.
THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!
F&D ….. shame on you for continuing to sell an inferior product…..

Just order Shaw brand. We went with this brand after realizing how bad NuCore was. Shaw has been in our kitchen for 2 months and when the painter got paint on it AND it was dry... I was able to wash it off easily with warm soapy water. Their flooring comes in many pretty colors. We went with a pale blonde. You cannot see shoe prints on it like other brands we had laid out to test. It has been very waterproof and scratch proof. Shaw is great!!

Everybody should enter a review on Yelp about this floor as Floor and Decor doesn’t like it. 😂 I just did and course they said sorry go to some lame website they offer and forward the review to them which you can not do on Yelp. They also said oh we can’t locate your account. BS.

I've left bad reviews everywhere. They don't care. They have a F rating on BBB. They also didn't respond to my BBB complaint.

They did not get back to me either on my BBB complaint. They did get back to me on Yelp.

I bought the expensive Nucore flooring at close to $4.50 psf. after much fighting with the install, i gave up and returned the unopened i had a similar experience as Justin above, with whst looks like the same product. the long edge wouldnt stay locked.. the short edges broke if you looked at them funny. i was concerned that id have a fully installed floor (maybe fighting through it) and be making warranty claims thet wouldnt get paid.

ive installed 2 other brands of flooring before and never had trouble like this.

I wrote a comment a year ago that we were skeptical of this product after readin the reviews. we installed it anyway because we liked the color/style we got and it was easy to install. A year later- so far no issues. Hope that continues. The floor does not make any weird noises since it is cork backing. My installer did a great job also. There was one spot where the floor seemed to not rest properly so he put glue in only that location to hold it down. Also, it is very low maintenance. I also like that Floor and Decor will take unused material back. Overall, I am happy with my decision so far.

Bought Nucore 4 years ago for my house, installed it myself and it has been perfect since! NOW, bought Nucore last August for a new house and had it installed and it looks tearable, the ends don't lock as well as the last floor. After 2 months 65% of the ends are un-locking. I am sure it is a combination of poor installation and poor product. This new floor DOES NOT act like or feel like the first Nucore floor I had. Pretty sure something changed in the manufacturing. Floor and Decore said bad installation and accepted nothing for quality of product. We just tore out a new floor and bought a different vinyl plank product and it looks fantastic! I think we need a CLASS ACTION against Nucore and Floor and Decor!

Since it seems so many of us have had the same experience, I wanted to share my story and see if it helps anyone, or maybe we can even help each other.

What Happened:

I had Nucore LVP professionally installed during a recent renovation in a 1,000sq ft open area. It was around $4.39/sq ft, one of the most expensive Nucore options at Floor & Decor, with the highest quality thickness, scratch resistance, and cork backed. All proper precautions were taken by installers before installation.

Within 1 month after installation, multiple areas of the flooring began to unlock from one-another. Installer came back and attempted a fix by gluing and hammering back into place. It seemed to hold.

A few days after, I moved a portion of my furniture into the house. It was a couch, upright piano, small organ (around 50lbs), and tv stand. Everything was moved by professionals both safely and securely. Nothing dropped or dragged. Main lanes on the floor were covered by thick plastic, and all furniture was covered in blankets. After that move, more separation began to show in other areas of the space (photo attached). It was very easy to push the edges of multiple boards down, and they flexed at the seams. The locking mechanisms were broken or failing in some way (Video of Separation).

I once again alerted the installers and they agreed to redo the job. In the weeks that I waited for the installers to come, more separation, clicks, and pops occurred. The installers double checked all levels before re-installing, and they took photos and video to verify the prep was done correctly in the first place. After they verified everything, they began the new install.

As you can guess, the installers discovered early-on that several new boards had already come unlocked! They informed me as to what was happening, and said they can't in-good-faith continue. We all decided to hold off and come up with a plan.

Nucore Warranty Claim:

We decided to just re-install the entire space with a new flooring brand, and submit a claim to recover the $6,000+ spent on flooring. We submitted a claim that included photos, videos, and applicable info to verify the install was done correctly. After a couple weeks, Nucore responded by saying we need a flooring inspection to verify that it was NOT the fault of the installers. Fortunately our flooring contractors fronted the cost of the inspection ($750 I think it was). After several more weeks, the inspector came.

Flooring Inpsection:

The inspector's report verified that the installation wouldn't have caused the separation in the flooring. Great news right?? It also noted multiple times in his report that the flooring "seemed weak" in the locking components.

But here's where it gets bad... He went on to say in his report that the flooring had been installed "again and again" which is likely the reason for the the weak locking he observed. This was simply untrue as it was installed ONE TIME!

His final reason for the flooring failure across the ENTIRE space, was that me and my wife... I quote... "dragged a piano several times back and forth across the floor" lol. HE DIDN'T EVEN ASK US ABOUT THE PIANO! Not only did the problem exist BEFORE the piano was in the house, but the piano only moved about 10 ft from the front door on a furniture dolly, and was lightly placed in it's spot by piano movers! We never moved it after that.

Basically, his report was full of BS. He didn't have a real reason for the flooring failure. But instead of blaming the flooring itself, blamed the homeowner for moving their furniture in the house??? It doesn't make any f'in sense.

Where We're At Now:

The inspector report just came in yesterday. After speaking with the installer and sharing our proof that the flooring had issues BEFORE we moved any furniture or pianos, we all decided to try and get the inspector to update his report. Along with plenty of indisputable video and timestamped evidence, I also sent the inspector dozens of nucore complaints that match our situation (there are SO many out there). Unfortunately, Floor & Decor does not allow reviews on their site so I couldn't check there (I wonder why that is...?).

Now we're just crossing our fingers. If the inspector fails to update his report, or finds another reason to blame me and my wife, we are out $11,000. That is not a small amount to us. We already had to take out a loan to get the flooring replaced.

I've seen some comments all over the internet about class action lawsuit. Admittedly I'm hoping we win this claim and can move on with our lives (and a new flooring that ISN'T Nucore), but if we don't, we want to be part of that conversation. Even if we do win the claim, I'd still be happy to share my photos, videos, and hopefully even the photos and videos from our flooring installers, to help anyone who's been affected.

They've been producing this sub-par trash for years it seems. While some are lucky enough to buy a good batch, many of us are left with defective garbage and a warranty process that is too expensive for many to even afford, and almost impossible to win!

Yep, same problem. This flooring is cheap garbage. Someone must be getting rich off all of our wasted money. Pull it out, and toss it right in the trash, return any boxes you can. I'm just going to toss all of our extra because it took so long to figure out a solution that floor and decore will no longer take it back.

Sorry to hear that. We returned what we could. After reading your review above, looks like you spent about the same I did. For me, I was breaking the bank to get those floors cause I thought they'd be top quality.

Even though the installers are being cooperative, if this inspection report goes ahead to blame "user maintenance", I'm out the initial flooring and the install cost. So it doesn't even put a dent in the total I'll have to spend to get some decent f'in floors. Sorry it seemed to not work out for ya, but I'm glad to find other people going through the same thing that are willing to seek some justice.

Mike we are trying to start a class action suit as many of us have the same problems. Inspection report always comes back to an install problem. If interested please text back and I will give you the info for the lawyer.

NuCore was good a few years ago, but the Chinese cheaped out and the locking lip breaks right off with little effort! They rejected my warranty claim of course saying install issue, which we all know it is not! If someone has a lawyer, let me know I would be glad to join!

Well, I have joined the ranks of those of you with warping, bowing and unlocking problems. Professionally installed 2 years ago and problems started 3 months ago. We are working through the warranty process right now. I will keep you posted. Inspection was done today.

I have Nucore Performance and haven't had an issue with it so far. It cleans easily, looks great, and installed easily. Paint and drywall mud was easily cleaned off, as was urine from my dogs. I moved a heavy desk and no denting from it or my office chair.

I guess I can join the rest of unsatisfied customers. I recently had a NuCore floor installed and I’m having the same experience with the locking mechanism. I had it installed in an open kitchen/family room area and noticed the defects immediately. My installer tried to correct it but his efforts were futile. I had planned on having the flooring installed throughout my house but after seeing how the first install looked I decided against it and returned the remaining boxes.
Floor and Decor first blamed my installer for the unsightly floor, then they didn’t want to refund me for the unused boxes because between all of the transfers the box seams came undone. The manager proceeded to tell me I had to load up the boxes and take them back home and follow their claims process…I refused and called my lawyer on the spot. Fortunately for me they gave me a refund for the return but I’m still going to pursue with legal actions for the installed floor. My experience just happened 12/29/23, so it’s really fresh. I decided to move toward legal actions based on a multitude of mishaps with F&D. I will be sharing all of these views with my attorney to see how he would like to proceed, I appreciate all of the comments shared and also feel that NuCore and F&D should be held accountable.

Let me know if you find a lawyer willing to pursue this.

Unfortunately every individual has to reach out to him to be added to list and tell him the probiems they are having . The more names he has the easier to start a clsss action suit.

Hi i just installed nucore click lock rigid vinyl flooring with the tecttanium plus finish. The locling system dies not work properly and in the two months since install I have e perienced all of the problems of seoerating, curling and edges breaking as listem in all of the complaints filed here.. I would like a refund for this garbage and would like to be included in any settlement Thanks, Alan

Worst floor on the market i will have to have it removed an another floor rinstalled. i really think i should get my money back but Nucore will not honor their warrenty.

Wow. I'm in the final decision process of selecting NuCore Performance or NuCore Waterproof Vinyl flooring for my entire condo. After reading all these comments, I'm really confused about proceeding with NuCore/ F&D.

Please do not get that product and stay away from Floor&Decor. Look at BBB for them and see they have an F rating with many complaints and to make matters worse are never get addressed/answered. You also can’t leave any reviews on their website.

SOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED!!!! Installed in a very low traffic bedroom and you can see every little imperfection!!!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!

It is the crappiest store and flooring

Hello, I had Nucore installed throughout my house over 2000 sq ft. in 2018. Just a few months after I moved in I started noticing the separation and gaping in betwen the boards. Many areas in the house have the issue. I have called floor and decor and all they said is discontinued and you can file a claim. I just sent the claim but I honestly know how this goes...I have very little hope on them honoring any of the $8000 that I spent on the cost and installation. Anyone knows of a class action lawsuit?

MC we are trying to file a class action lawsuit and have a lawyer involved, but unfortunately it is just that. Nothing has happened yet. The floor sucks and so does Floor&Decor. You are one of many to have the same issues.

We have been trying to install this NuCore flooring for a couple of months now. It keeps lifting up. Did anyone get anywhere with a class-action suit? $11,000+ and months of delays trying to install! Something is terribly wrong with this Chinese product.

Unfortunately have not heard a thing. Another girl started it and nothing has happend yet. Ugh. we are all screwed out of a lot of money. Floor&Decor sucks.

I have the same problem. It's lifting up. I purchased at Floor and decor.

Also I've been a carpenter for about 45 years. This product is a big mistake. I had a feeling it wasn't very good when installing it. Was fine for about a year then started to fail at the joints. Should of gone with my instincts.

Unfortunately Floor&Decor will not do anything about it and you can’t even leave reviews on their website. The company sucks.

I don't like it at all, it’s awful; doesn’t stay clean, actually it doesn’t come clean. Paw prints remain, cannot be removed. I’ve tried everything to no avail. Bad investment.

It’s horrible, terrible investment. Save your money, stay away from this product.

I had NuCore LVT installed in January 2023. I'm having it replaced this month August 2026. I'm sure it's defective. It curls in low humidity, then straightens out in the summer. I haven't had any water leaks, so I can't comment on how it would hold up for that. It's de-laminating and ends and corners are broken. In the winter it pops and cracks. Floor and Decor and NuCore would not honor any warranties.
