Personally, the gray is nice, but I know it will go out of style sooner than later, just like any other trend in years past. ;) But, I personally like soothing gray-ish colors, like a good greige or what I just painted my own living room in, Olympic Paints "French Gray Linen" and it's slightly lighter companion, "Veil of Dusk". They are a soothing, subtle, grey-green colors and they are lovely. They don't jump out at you or scream "hey I'm a color on a wall" but blend in nicely. I would check them out at Lowe's rather than looking online, as the color in person isn't even close to the online version.

Of course Joanna Gaines also has some lovely go-to colors for whole house schemes.

It depends on the color of your window treatments and rugs and upholstered furniture and lastly, your bedding. Neutral is usually chosen and often it is gray. However, when I was a child it was popular to have green throughout the house. It was treated like a neutral.

I like gray but for my clients I often choose a soft gray/ green it is neutral but has a bit of color and certainly not beige Silver Sage from Restoration hardware is very nice

I love silver sage and was hoping that would work in my kitchen with the Blue Pearl counter tops ...then my paint dilemma would be over. I love restoration paint and have already used in in most of my house.
