I have an ice cream banana, but it looks nothing like yours. I think I must have the wrong soil, although I've gotten other banana trees to grow. I keep bananas in the back yard and hibiscus in the front, except for one hibiscus that is in a whiskey barrel in the back, which is rather small and only makes about four flowers at a time

Any suggestions on how to grow a better banana tree? Maybe I should move it to where the other banana tree was, which I got rid of because it did not make bananas. Or maybe I should just get a new banana tree.

Have you gotten bananas from your ice cream banana tree?

I bought the I.C. in June of 2014 Lars. A single pup about 1' at a farmers market. This year it bloomed and has banana's on it right now. I have mine up against a wall that gets hot sun almost all day until sunset. Its done well on average watering..me and a hose every few days. It does have a mulch around it and no other large plants.

The shade of green of the banana leaves sets off the pink perfectly. Nice!

If you look close at the "V" in the Banana leafs? You can see the bunch of green banana's.
