Another Grub problem or No?

Sudden brown patches, went and pulled on one and it came up pretty easy, I looked and no grubs, but going to go back outside with a flash light tonight and look and dig deeper, I used Bayer on it a few yrs ago when I had a slight grub problem and since I use grub ex in late may, so Idk if this is a grub problem persay! :x the rest looks super green just in a few areas its brown in spots...I tugged on a few other brown spots and it didn't come up easy at all just that one did.....Your thoughts???? Thanks :)

Yes and not One was found in the one that was pulled up, I took a knife and went deep also and just checked again this morning, Nothing!!! its not that bad, Its just some browning areas I wanna make sure though and get some bayer down if that was the culprit but seems its not been putting down grub ex for two springs now do didn't really know if it was indeed grubs, so....I will just wait and keep a close eye and sod that piece Lol I am obsessed with sod ;)

What is your watering regimen? How often and for how long do you water?

    Where do you live?

What kind of grass do you have?

what does it look like now and where are you located? How much sun does your front yard get?

It was sodded back in October of 2009 and has been doing well since, with some grub problem a few yrs ago, I got right on that w bayer in Fall and then I put a spring application every spring w grub ex so...Just going to wait I Guess...idk why the area is shallow rooted and comes up so easy one little area and rest don't but a few brown areas by the split rail fence...in the corner only idk? Lol anything can go wrong w grass and it sucks, but thankfully I have a nice lawn and keep up on it, I don't or will never let it Go dormant I like looking at green not brown lawns in the summer we had NO rain here in Pittsburgh all summer, so I watered a lot, mostly around 5-7 when the sun was off my lawn and across the street

when you saw you water a lot, can you define that?

well lately not much, but summer time every early evening pretty much, I know rule is to water deep and infrequent but I never had a problem w watering nightly.

Brown patches near the fence? I'm thinking possibilities are:

    1. Dogs peeing on the fence while being walked by owners.

    2. Water not getting to that area. Check sprinklers (put a cup out there and other areas to see if its getting the same amount of coverage)

    3. Areas close to the road are typically more stressed from heat. Could need more water than other areas possibly.

    Just a few thoughts.
